Further information: As many of you know, over the last few years, Troserch Woods Society have been selling Christmas trees, grown in the woods themselves. This has been a fantastic way for the group to raise essential funds to help keep the woods open and free to use for all, all year round. Managing a large community woodland doesnβt come cheap; there are two expensive insurance policies to pay for, tools and equipment for the monthly volunteer working parties, and repairs and maintenance to the tracks, paths and structures (which often needs doing with contractors).
The first couple of years of sales didnβt go very well, and only a few trees were sold, but then in the Christmas of 2015, there was a surge in interest, and many of the trees growing in the plot were sold. The same can be said for Christmas 2016, and as a result, the group now have to restock, but they have been victims of their own success really! The group have now decided to develop the Christmas tree plot to include a suitable pathway (anyone who has been to buy a tree will know what the terrain is like on the plot!). The plot will also be extended slightly, and new saplings planted.
The group have decided to hold two extraordinary working parties, outside of the usual last Saturday of the month events. It is hoped that the bulk of the work for the plot will be completed during those two days so that the group can enjoy a sustainable income stream to keep the woods going for years to come.

This list is subject to change. If any details of event changes, an updated list will not be sent out. Any changes will be posted on the facebook page β https://www.facebook.com/kwtcarms/
If you wish to join in with an event, it may be a good idea to contact Dan: daniel.snaith@keepwalestidy.cymru or Brian: KBMogford@carmarthenshire.gov.uk beforehand.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING POINTS ON SOME OF THE MAP LINKS ARE WHERE THE ARROW / PIN IS POINTING, NOT POINT A.
You are welcome to stay for the duration of any event or any time you can give will be greatly received. For all day events (those that continue after 12pm), please bring lunch as we donβt provide this, and the work locations are often not near food outlets / shops.
If you arrive after the designated start time, please ring 07824 504805 or 07887 932066 when you arrive in case we have moved on to a different part of the site, or come and look for us.
End times are just a guide and events / work days may end earlier if the job is finished.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For larger school type groups, we ask that a ratio of 1 staff member per 10 pupils is adhered to for proper supervision. Most events are open to all but where those state they are unsuitable for children, then that applies to anyone 16 and under. If it states unsuitable for young children, that applies to anyone 10 and under.
You are covered under Keep Wales Tidy / community group insurance while at these events.
Please dress sensibly to suit the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear should also be
worn (not sandals / flip flops, formal shoes); safety boots are ideal, but anything fairly rugged will be acceptable.
For more information, contact Dan: daniel.snaith@keepwalestidy.org or phone 07824 504805, or Brian: KBMogford@carmarthenshire.gov.uk or phone 07887 932066.
