Age Cymru Sir Gâr is raising funds to help the charity help to support Carmarthenshire’s older residents by challenging people to do the Velocity Zipwire in Bethesda, North Wales, on Saturday 9 September 2017. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Ann Dymock, chief officer, who has also signed up to do the challenge says,
“ if I can do the zipwire, anyone can – its important when asking people to help us that we also help ourselves – so I’ve signed up. I’ll also be joined on the zipwire by our volunteer chairman of our board of trustees, former Coedcae headteacher, Harvey Jones”. Anyone over the age of 18 can do the zipwire challenge and there’s no age limit. We’ve booked spaces for the afternoon so anyone wanting to travel there and back in a day can do so.
If anyone wants to support the charity but not do the zipwire challenge they could sponsor those that are doing it or provide a donation to: Age Cymru Sir Gar, units 5 – 11, 100 Trostre Road, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire SA15 2EA. Donations cannot yet be taken online, but the charity hopes to have registered with Just Giving by August 2017.
