A484 Berwick to Trostre night-time closure

Night-time road closures will start next week for resurfacing works to be carried out in the Trostre and Pemberton Park area of Llanelli.

The A484 Llanelli link road will be closed overnight between the Berwick and Trostre roundabouts for a month for resurfacing work to be carried out.

Contractor Alun Griffths (Contractors) Ltd will start work next Monday (May 15) for a period of four weeks with night-time operations 8pm to 6am reduced to 5am for certain phases on week nights only. The works will be undertaken on a phased basis and continue to allow access to all business premises either direct or via diversion routes.

Carmarthenshire County Council Head of Highways and Transport Stephen Pilliner said: “The works are essential to maintain the integrity of the highway. Works have been planned to minimise disruption to the public as much as practicably possible. We are making investment now to reduce risk of greater disruption from carriageway failure in future. There will inevitably be delays for overnight traffic and we ask the public to plan ahead for journeys.

Details of the closure (in red) and alternative routes (in green) are set out in the map attached.

The A484 will be closed from its junction with Berwick Roundabout to its junction with Trostre Roundabout, a distance of 2km. It will also be closed from Trostre Roundabout for 98m in a northerly direction and for 442m in a south-westerly direction.

The alternative route for north-west bound traffic will be via the B4304 to Morfa roundabout, Lower Trostre Road and Trostre Road and vice versa for south-east bound traffic.

The alternative route for south bound traffic will be via Pemberton Retail Park, the A4138, Trostre Road and Trostre Retail Park Access Road.

The alternative route for north bound traffic will be via Trostre Retail Park Access Road, Trostre Road and the A4138.
