‎Change in ticket office opening times at Llanelli Railway Station

Sean Rees, Plaid Cymru Llanelli Town Councillor for Glanymor Ward said:

“Following my campaign for improvements to be made at Llanelli Railway Station, I was very pleased to hear that Arriva Trains Wales will now be trialling new ticket office opening hours for the remainder of this month.

“A few months ago, I wrote to Arriva to highlight the concerns being raised within our community.

“Although I welcome this development, I urge Arriva to now advertise further the change for this month as passengers who use the rail network need to be made aware of this change. We all know that if it’s not used then there will be the claim that having the extended hours isn’t justified.

“I’ve also raised the problem of anti-social behaviour around the station with the current Police and Crime Commissioner as I don’t think the actions of a minority should result in other passengers who use the rail network being penalised.

“For a town the size of Llanelli, the station really ought to be manned to a sufficient level to keep rail users safe and assistance available should any information be required.‎”

Throughout May, the ticket office will be open from 6.15am to 5pm on a Monday-Saturday and between 11am and 5pm on Sundays.

Currently, the ticket office closes at 12.40pm on Monday-Friday, 1.30pm on Saturday and all day on a Sunday.
