Rhoddir cyfle i bobl sy’n dwlu ar adar i ddod i gwrdd â’n cyfeillion pluog fel rhan o arddangosiad modrwyo adar mewn gwarchodfa natur yn Llanelli.

Caiff yr arddangosiad ei arwain gan wirfoddolwyr, gyda chefnogaeth tîm bioamrywiaeth Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin, fel rhan o Wythnos Natur Cymru, sy’n rhedeg rhwng 3 a 11 Mehefin.

Bydd yn cael ei gynnal yng Ngwarchodfa Natur Leol Morfa Berwig, y Bynea, ddydd Sul 4 Mehefin, gan ddechrau am 8am.

Gwahoddir pobl i roi cynnig ar fodrwyo adar, proses sy’n cynnwys dal adar mewn modd diogel a gosod tag adnabod arnynt at ddibenion monitro.

Mae modrwyo adar yn ddull gwyddonol profedig o fonitro lles poblogaethau adar ledled y byd, ac mae’n rhan bwysig o warchod adar.

Dywedodd Isabel Macho, Swyddog Bioamrywiaeth y cyngor: “Dewch i ymuno â’r parcmon gwirfoddol i weld y technegau a ddefnyddir a’r wybodaeth a gesglir gan bob aderyn, yn ogystal â chael golwg agos ar ein cyfeillion pluog.”

  • Mae’r arddangosiad yn dibynnu ar y tywydd ac mae rhaid archebu lle ymlaen llaw. I archebu lle, cysylltwch ag Isabel Macho drwy ffonio 01558 825390 neu anfonwch e-bost at IMacho@sirgar.gov.uk. Morfa Berwig bird ringing demonstration

Bird lovers are being given the chance to get hands-on with our feathered friends as part of a bird ringing demonstration at a Llanelli nature reserve.

The demo is being led by volunteers, supported by Carmarthenshire County Council’s biodiversity team, as part of Wales Nature Week, which runs from June 3-11.

It will be held at the Morfa Berwig Local Nature Reserve, Bynea, on Sunday, June 4, from 8am.

People are invited to have a go at bird ringing, a process involving the safe capture and identity tagging of birds for monitoring purposes.

Ringing is a proven scientific method of monitoring the wellbeing of bird populations throughout the world, and is an important part of conservation.

Isabel Macho, the council’s Biodiversity Officer, said: “Come along and join the volunteer ranger to see a demonstration of the techniques involved and the information gathered from each bird processed, as well as a close up view of our feathered friends.”

  • The demo is weather dependent and booking is essential. To book, contact Isabel Macho on 01558 825390 or email IMacho@carmarthenshire.gov.uk. Visitors are advised to wear suitable outdoor clothing. Meet at the entrance to the nature reserve near the roundabout on the A484/Berwick Road. Parking at this location is limited.
