Leading wholesalers for the UK coach operator to visit South West Wales

Albatross Group – one of the leading wholesalers for the UK coach operator – is to visit South West Wales to discuss the potential to add the area to its list of itineraries – a move that could bring in hundreds of coach passengers.
 
Albatross is looking to introduce more attractions in South Wales as part of its coach offerings from UK/Ireland and continental European destinations.
South West Wales is renowned for its captivating castles and breath-taking gardens. As part of the Legends campaign funded by Welsh Government Regional Tourism Engagement Fund, South West Wales is working together as a Tourism Destination Partnership to showcase the legendary castle and garden itineraries for group travel in South West Wales.
 
A new set of suggested itineraries have been created to assist group travel operators bringing tours to the area. Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, Carmarthenshire County Council Executive Board Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, speaking on behalf of the Partnership, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Albatross and other group travel organisers to the area this June. We have a fantastic familiarisation visit planned including a visit to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Clyne Gardens, Oystermouth Castle, Pembrokeshire Castle, Colby Woodland Gardens and Margam Country Park. The group will be staying at the Ivy Bush Royal in Carmarthen and the Marriott Hotel in Swansea.”
 
He added: “Visiting South West Wales and exploring its castles and gardens will immerse tour groups in the region’s history, the itinerary has been created to showcase the glorious landscapes en-route and, of course, suggesting some great refreshment and accommodation options.”
 
Each attraction has a story to tell and with 2017 heralding the Year of Legends here in Wales, visitors can listen, explore and learn as they discover each of them. Itineraries from one to five days, accessible tours, wet weather friendly venues and driving tours have been developed for the group travel market taking in some of the region’s finest attractions and landscapes.
