• Live music, quiz and chaos hosted by the BBC’s Wynne Evans
• Will your company be crowned top of the pops?

Action for Children is bringing its Never Mind the Business quiz and live music event to Wales for the first time at Swansea University’s Great Hall on Friday 13th October.

The event gives businesses across Swansea and South Wales the chance to put their pop music knowledge to the test and enjoy some tremendous live music from James Williams while raising money for disadvantaged children and young people supported by Action for Children.

This is also a corporate night with a twist and a strict jeans and t-shirt only dress code where guests will enjoy a bottled beer reception, three-course meal, live entertainment and the main event: the amazing Action for Children Wales music quiz.

Paul Thorburn, former Welsh rugby international, Douglas Jones Mercer representative and chairman of the Never Mind the Business committee, said: “As a proud Swansea firm, Douglas Jones Mercer is delighted to be the main sponsor of this event working with our other key sponsor, Antur Insurance to put on this great event.

“We’re looking forward to an entertaining night of live music and quiz chaos where having fun and raising as much money for Action for Children and the children and young people in our communities who need it most is the name of the game.”

Nina Rice, fundraiser for Action for Children in Wales, added: “Never Mind the Business is a great opportunity for friends and colleagues to let their hair down and put their music knowledge to the ultimate test –all while raising money for an amazing cause.

“The event has proved very popular in Scotland, raising £1.5m since its inception in 2004 and we’re very proud Never Mind the Business is coming to Swansea and Wales for the first time. The money our music quiz and auction will raise will make a real difference to disadvantaged children and young people Action for Children proudly serves.”

How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help disadvantaged children across Wales and the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. We make life better for disabled children. We influence policy and advocate for change. Our 7,000 staff and volunteers operate over 600 services, improving the lives of 390,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers every year. We succeed by doing what’s right, doing what’s needed, and doing what works for children.
