200-voices and musicians will unite with civic dignitaries in the town of Llanelli to welcome the Christmas season in true musical style at the forthcoming “The Magic of Christmas” performance at Llanelli’s grand Tabernacle Chapel.
The musical baton of conductor John Hywel Williams MBE will bring together the massed voices and musicians of the Hywel Girls’ Choir & Hywel Boy Singers, Llanelli Choral Society, Burry Port Male Choir and award-winning Burry Port Town Band, organist Huw Tregelles Williams OBE and pianist Jean Hywel for an exciting and mixed evening of Christmas favourites.
The evening, with popular Christmas music and carols blended with hearty congregational massed singing, promises to greet the Christmas season with a resounding welcome.
Programme highlights will include Christmas favourites… Sleigh Ride, Ode to Joy, Silent Night, O Holy Night, Saviour’s Day, White Christmas, Joy to the World, Mary’s Boy Child, Away in a Manger, Winter Wonderland, O Come All Ye Faithful and many more.
“There is no other way to get into the Christmas spirit than with the wonderful sound of children’s voices, hearty roof-raising singing and of course a magical selection of Christmas music”, explains John Hywel Williams who will direct the performance.
