LLANELLI LGBT DAY STARTS SUMMER FESTIVAL

CETMA’s Llanelli LGBT Day will be starting off a series of summer events in Llanelli Town Centre this August.

The event, now in its third year sees organisations and residents come join together to promote equality. It is one of a handful of events devoted to LGBTS in Wales this year.

Izzy Khan, CETMA Project Worker said: “This is a family friendly event where we can all join together and show equality and how Llanelli is a LGBT Friendly place to live.”

“We must thank our sponsors, Carmarthenshire County Council, West Wales Trade Sales, Castell Howell and Big Lottery for ensuring that not only this event but the others go ahead.”

The events have been planned to celebrate Llanelli’s unique music scene and feature different styles of music on the Saturdays in the Town Centre.

“We’d also like to thank everyone who is involved as they’re doing it voluntarily and for the good of the people and the town. So please come and support them.”

Itinerary of events so far:

Saturday 5th LGBT Day in Spring Gardens Have: 

. Speeches by Nia Griffiths AM, Jeremy Miles AM, Sean Rees Plaid Cymru and Chair of Llanelli Rural Council Sian Caiach. 

. Fair rides and a bouncy castle from Studts 

. Info stalls by local organisations 

. Fire engine in afternoon 

. Minions 

. Richard Rees doing a dance funk demo at 1pm 

. Acts: Fighting Fifth Husky, Corrin Casini, The Otherside and Johnny Velvet

Saturday 12th near Boots Start at 12 and finish at 4 

The events will finish with the first Youth Festival that Llanelli has held for years on Saturday 26th August.

All of the events are open to everyone and residents can bring a chair if they wish
