Wales have made two changes to their starting line-up for their Womenâs Rugby World Cup pool match against Canada tomorrow at Billings Park (17:00).
Â
Sian Moore starts at scrum-half, having featured off the bench against the Black Ferns on Wednesday, and Jess Kavanagh-Williams gets the opportunity to impress on the left wing in her first matchday involvement of the tournament.
Â
There are two notable changes among the replacements, with hooker Morfudd Ifans in line to win her first cap, and back rower Shona Powell-Hughes returning to fitness following injury in a warm-up match.
Â
âWeâll be looking to cut out the unforced errors against Canada, who are a well-organised, strong and very athletic side,â said head coach Rowland Phillips. âWeâve spoken a lot about taking positives out of the game against New Zealand, and that’s something weâve been working on in the build-up to tomorrowâs match.
Â
âWeâre lucky as coaches to be overseeing a highly motivated group of players. Almost as soon as we came off the pitch on Wednesday, we started looking at what we needed to do to challenge what is clearly a very good Canada side. That preparation â which has included a lot of hard work on the training pitch â means weâll take to the field full of confidence tomorrow.â
