A Llanelli mother has spoken of her shock at seeing a decapitated cat hanging from her letterbox!
Kristie Carrington, a mum of two who lives in Als Street, Llanelli came upon this shocking sight last Thursday morning. She said:
âIt was approx 9.20 when I came downstairs, I was shocked and horrified by the site of the cats paws in the letterbox and the smell.â
âA police woman was telling me âdonât be alarmedâ.
âI opened the front door to speak to the officer and then I saw the cat hanging there, I didnât notice at that point that the head was missing.
âMy partner and I do not mix with anybody as we keep ourselves to ourselves and we are only ever with our 2 children. âNo one comes to our house, so we donât know who or why anyone would do such a terrible thing.â
âI felt sick at the sight and smell and am just so glad my kids didnât see it. â
âI do not feel safe to be honest if someone can kill and behead a poor defenceless cat, what else are they capable of?â
âI donât like being in the house now and canât have any windows open as Iâm too scared to. Iâm a nervous wreck as I have hardly slept since the incident and canât even relax in my own home. â
âI just try to be out as much as possible now, itâs a very horrible thing to not feel safe in your own home. â
âThat is the one place youâd expect everyone to feel safe and secure, Iâm even scared for my children as wellâ
âIf anyone saw anything at all, no matter how small or irrelevant they might think it is then please just speak to the Police.â
One witness wrote on Facebook:
âI walked past and saw him; the police had already been called! Whoever did this should have the same done to them!!!!!!! Poor poor cat xxxâ
âTook me till I got to the end of the road to take in what I’d seen and the image has stayed with me all day!
âAbsolutely horrific!â
âReally hope they catch who did it! Thank god the children didn’t see it!â
Sergeant Justin Evans of Dyfed Powys Police said:
âThis incident has been reported to us and we are investigating, anyone with information which could assist our inquiries should contact officers at Llanelli police on 101â.
