SINGER, composer and script writer, Caryl Parry Jones, will be the special guest speaker at Carmarthenshire’s free 50+ Forum annual event.
The top entertainer will visit the National Botanic Garden in Llanarthne on Friday September 15 from 10am-4pm.
Caryl appears regularly in gigs where she performs her own material as well as arrangements of more familiar songs, and mixes the music with her own brand of comedy.
Other speakers at the 50+ Forum Feel Good Festival include Gareth Jordan, cyber crime specialist from Dyfed Powys Police, the county council’s executive board members for health and social care Cllr Jane Tremlett, and housing Cllr Linda Evans, and 50+ Forum chair Caroline Streek.
Stalls from over 40 organisations will offer a wide range of taster sessions including arts and crafts, men’s sheds, therapy horses, a ‘timeless’ photo booth, language lessons and reflexology. There will also be guided walking tours to learn about botany, health and exercise.
Admission is free for 50+ forum members upon presentation of a membership card.
The council’s 50+ champion, Cllr Jane Tremlett said: “The 50+ annual event provides a great opportunity for older people in Carmarthenshire to see what is available and to try out some of the fun activities.”

Y GANTORES, cyfansoddwraig ac awdures sgriptiau, Caryl Parry Jones, fydd y siaradwraig wadd arbennig yn nigwyddiad blynyddol Fforwm 50+ Sir Gaerfyrddin eleni.
Bydd y ddiddanwraig amryddawn yn ymweld â’r Ardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol yn Llanarthne ddydd Gwener 15 Medi o 10am-4pm.
Mae Caryl i’w gweld yn aml ar lwyfan, lle mae’n perfformio ei deunydd ei hun yn ogystal â threfniadau o ganeuon mwy cyfarwydd, gan gyfuno’r gerddoriaeth â’i math unigryw hi ei hun o gomedi.
Ymhlith y siaradwyr eraill yng Ngŵyl Teimlo’n Dda y Fforwm 50+ fydd Gareth Jordan, arbenigwr seiberdroseddu o Heddlu Dyfed Powys, , yr aelodau o Fwrdd Gweithredol y Cyngor Sir dros iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol, y Cynghorydd Jane Tremlett, a thai, y Cynghorydd Linda Evans, a chadeirydd Fforwm 50+, Caroline Streek.
Bydd stondinau gan fwy na 40 o sefydliadau yn cynnig ystod eang o sesiynau rhagflas gan gynnwys celf a chrefft, siediau dynion, ceffylau therapi, bwth lluniau ‘diamser’, gwersi iaith ac adweitheg. Hefyd bydd teithiau cerdded tywysedig a fydd yn gyfle i ddysgu am fotaneg, iechyd ac ymarfer corff.
