Craig Bellamy: Welsh fans needs to be patient with Ben Woodburn –
and Liverpool do, too.

The former Wales and Liverpool forward is urging patience after the
17-year-old’s explosive start to life as an international
footballer, saying supporters can play a key part in his development.

NO NEED TO RUSH WOODBURN INTO LIVERPOOL TEAM

I don’t believe that Ben Woodburn needs to be more involved with
the first team at Liverpool.

He’s 17, he’s got plenty of time, and the club know what they are
doing with him.

I’m completely fine with their plan for Ben – he’s a kid who is
learning his trade, and doing well enough.

These next few years are the most important period in a young
player’s career, and I know he’s in really good hands.

Liverpool think a lot of him, and they’re going to keep progressing
him, but not too quickly.

WALES FANS CAN HELP SHAPE WOODBURN’S CAREER

The impact Woodburn has had for Wales this week was incredible.

There’s every reason for people to be getting excited but, at the
same time, we want him to be there for the next 15 or even 20 years.

It’s important that we as fans in Wales play a part in his
progression and make sure he becomes the top player he’s promising
to be.

We have to be level-headed about him and encourage him, because
it’s not always going to go well.

Things might go wrong for him in the next camp, and we should back
him if they do.

We’ve got to be patient and play our part in fulfilling his
potential.
