As part of the award, Amlin, Title Partner of the Amlin Challenge Cup and Premium Partner of the Heineken Cup, are delighted to donate kit and equipment to a youth development scheme chosen by the winning Amlin Challenge Cup Man of the Match.

Scarlets back Liam Williams was named Amlin Man of the Match at the quarter final stage of the Challenge Cup against Brive at the end of season 2011-12 and returned to his club of origin recently to hand over a kit donation to his local club, Waunarlwydd RFC.

As man-of-the-match in the Amlin Challenge Cup game against Brive back in April, Williams got to decide which local junior club received the kit.

“All of my early rugby was played with Waun and they’ve supported me along the way. The club have come down to support me at Parc y Scarlets on a few occasions as well so it’s really nice to be able to give something back to them as a thank you for all of their hard work.

“I’ve grown up here and my nephew is now starting out on his rugby career with Waunarlwydd and I come and watch as often as I can.

“It’s great that Amlin have given me the opportunity to hand over this new training kit for the junior section, and hopefully the kids will make good use of it.”
