Bus shelters within the Glanymor Ward are now set for upgrading works following pressure from the Town Councillor and residents living in the community
Sean Rees, Plaid Cymru Llanelli Town Councillor for Glanymor Ward said:
“The bus shelters located on Marine Street, Embankment Road and New Street are a disgrace and really are an eye sore within our community.
“A number of residents across Seaside, New Dock and Morfa have contacted me to highlight their concerns and I share their frustrations.
“All of these bus shelters need upgrading before the Autumn and Winter weather sets in. There are many people, in particular the elderly who rely on bus services everyday to access the Town Centre and Trostre.
“The existing bus shelters need a clean of the entire structure which should also include the removal of graffiti and the replacing of the damaged panels.
“After my discussions with the County Council Highway Services Unit, I was very pleased to hear that an assessment will now be undertaken of the bus shelters and remedial works will be arranged as necessary.”
