Linking up for Veterans
Armed Forces Veterans can find opportunities for work, training, education or volunteering at a meeting in Llanelli this Thursday.
The Joined-Up Linking project, run via Links in Llanelli will be holding a veterans event between 1-4pm at The Hub in Stepney St next door to Boots.
The event will host a number of services, projects and organisations that provide support to ex service personnel and their families. Organisations due to attend include Workways +, DWP, Coleg Sir Gar, Urban Car Spa, Poppy Factory and Volunteering for Health.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Armed Forces Champion Cllr David Jenkins said: “I would encourage any veterans who want to find opportunities to go into work, training, education and volunteering to attend. If you’re a veteran and want to get busy, come along!”
The Hub offers an advice and guidance service in finding employment, training, education and volunteering opportunities across the county. Customers can also access the council’s Carmarthenshire County Council’s Customer Service Centre.
