Award Winning Wrexham Brewery creates limited edition ale to support the Poppy Appeal.

The Big Hand Brewery have created a commemorative Ale, Polygon Wood,
in support of the Poppy Appeal in North Wales.

The new brew, named after The Battle of Polygon Wood, which was
fought as part of the Third Battle of Ypres (also known as the Battle
of Passchendaele) is available from now to November and part of the
proceeds from each sale will go towards the North Wales Poppy Appeal
2017.

The new brew, called Polygon Wood is available from now to November
throughout Wales and part of the proceeds from each sale will go
towards the North Wales Poppy Appeal 2017.  The Battle of Polygon
Wood was fought as part of the Third Battle of Ypres (also known as
the Battle of Passchendaele). Polygon Wood, four miles east of Ypres,
was named after its shape but the battle fought in Polygon Wood has
become synonymous with the brutality of warfare in World War One.

Dave Shaw, Managing Director, The Big Hand Brewery said ‘We
approached the local Poppy Appeal after deciding to creating a this
special ale in honour of those that fell during the Battle of
Passchendaele. We are thrilled to be supporting the Poppy Appeal this
year and a lot of thought has gone into the process behind this
Commemorative Specialty Ale.’

Andy Green, Community Fundraiser North Wales, The Royal British
Legion said ‘We are extremely grateful to all at The Big Hand
Brewery for supporting the 2017 Poppy Appeal by creating this
commemorative ale. The money raised from sales will go towards the
Legion’s vital work supporting members of the British Armed Forces
past and present.”
