JCP's Rebecca Bennete with her Trophy

One of the victors of the Ironman Wales 2017 event, Rebecca Bennett,
can be particularly proud of her category win, since Tenby was her
first ever Ironman event.

Rebecca, a 30-year-old Medical Negligence Solicitor at South and
West Wales law firm, JCP Solicitors, came first in the female
30-34 Age Group category, was sixth female overall and was third non
professional female– seeing her qualify for the Ironman World
Championships in Hawaii in 2018.

Rebecca, who represents clients throughout Pembrokeshire, as well
as being involved in the South West Wales brain injury community,
said: “I am so pleased to have been part of this inspirational
event. I have trained hard all year with the team at Cycle Specific in
Cross Hands, as well as with my swim coach Kevin Pullin, and I am
delighted that all the long hours of training have paid off with such
a great result.

“Ironman Wales has an atmosphere like no other sporting event and
it was a privilege to a part of such an amazing day, competing
alongside such dedicated athletes, in one of the most beautiful parts
of the country.

“I am new to the ironman distance, having taken part in shorter
distances since my first triathlon just last year – so it is a great
motivator for me to achieve successes like these. I am grateful to my
family, friends and JCP colleagues for encouraging me throughout my
training and for cheering me on during the event itself. I can’t wait
to hit the road to Hawaii.”
