• First Mainway Games event raises over £300 for Swansea London Marathon runner and Action for Children
• Swansea City legend Lee Trundle on hand to present winners medals

Swansea’s Mainway Fitness has held its first Mainway Games competition and donated the proceeds to Sandra White who’s running this year’s London Marathon for Action for Children.

The keenly fought fitness competition raised over £300 with Swansea City legend Lee Trundle presenting the winners medals at Mainway’s base at Ashlands Sports Centre in Port Tennant.

Carl Mainwaring, owner of Mainway Fitness, said:  ‘Getting the Mainway Games up and running was a big thing for me and getting a charity involved was even better.  I think really highly of Sandra and her husband, Martin.

‘They’ve been training with me a while and I love their ethos.  When I heard Sandra was running the London Marathon for Action for Children I just wanted to help as much as I possibly could so picking Action for Children to benefit from the first Mainway Games was a very easy decision.’

Sandra White is also a children’s services manager for Action for Children in Swansea and the west of Wales.  She said:  ‘I’m absolutely thrilled Carl has got the Mainway Games off the ground and so grateful he’s raised funds for us from the event.  It was a great turnout and to raise over £300 was a fantastic boost to my London marathon fundraising.

‘Carl is a brilliant trainer and so committed to getting the whole community interested in fitness which is so important to everybody’s wellbeing.  I’ve no doubt the Mainway Games will grow and grow and be a tremendous success.’
