Datblygu llwybr yn Sir Gaerfyrddin

Mae llwybr yn cael ei ddatblygu yn Sir Gaerfyrddin ac mae gwaith parhaus yn cael ei wneud ar y trywyddau unigol ar hyd iddo.

Mae’r llwybr yn cychwyn yn y Bynea ac yn mynd drwy’r sir gan fynd heibio’r holl orsafoedd trenau ar hyd Rheilffordd Calon Cymru, ac yna’n gadael y sir unwaith eto i’r gogledd o Gynghordy.

Mae’r gwaith yn cael ei wneud o dan Raglen Gwella Hawliau Tramwy Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin ac mae’n cynnwys tri llwybr ceffylau sy’n 4.5km o hyd. Mae’r Cyngor wedi gwario £7,216 ar y prosiect. Daeth £3,000 ohono o Gymdeithas Ceffylau Prydain, sy’n gweithio’n agos gydag is-adran Hamdden Awyr Agored y Cyngor, a chafodd £1,000 arall ei roi gan brosiect Rheilffordd Calon Cymru. Daeth y gweddill o grant Cynllun Gwella Hawliau Tramwy Llywodraeth Cymru.

Mae’r gwaith yn cynnwys adleoli offer cefn gwlad gan roi mwy o bwyslais ar helpu i sicrhau mynediad hwylus, a gosod pont droed fach ger Castell Carreg Cennen.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Peter Hughes Griffiths, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros Ddiwylliant, Chwaraeon a Thwristiaeth: “Mae hon yn rhaglen waith barhaus a ddechreuodd y llynedd. Cafodd llwybr ei nodi ac rydym yn sicrhau bod pob trywydd unigol sy’n cael ei ddefnyddio ar hyd y llwybr yn agored a bod modd ei ddefnyddio.

“Ein gobaith yw y bydd yr holl waith angenrheidiol yn Sir Gaerfyrddin yn cael ei gwblhau erbyn mis Ebrill 2018.”

A trail in the making

A trail is being developed in Carmarthenshire with ongoing work on the individual paths along its route.

The trail begins in Bynea and travels through the county including all train stations along the Heart of Wales line, and then leaves the county again north of Cynghordy.

The work is being carried out under Carmarthenshire County Council’s Rights of Way Improvement Programme and includes three bridleways covering 4.5km. The council has spent £7,216, of which £3,000 came from the British Horse Society which works closely with the council’s Outdoor Recreation division, and a further £1,000 was donated by The Heart of Wales Line project. The remainder was covered by the Rights of Way Improvement Plan grant from Welsh Government.

The work includes the replacement of countryside furniture with greater emphasis to help with least restrictive access, and a small footbridge to be installed near Carreg Cennen Castle.

Executive board member for culture, sport and tourism Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said: “This is an ongoing programme of works, it started last year, a trail was identified and we are ensuring that all the individual paths that are used along the trail are open and accessible.

“We hope to have all necessary works in Carmarthenshire done by April 2018.”
