Moth Magic at Craig Gwladus Country Park

Looking for something to do this weekend, then why not explore Craig Gwladus Country Park in Neath and take part in a free nature and educational Moth Morning event on Saturday 14th October.
To coincide with International Moth Night, nature expert Barry Stewart and Friends of Craig Gwladus will be professionally trapping moths overnight in the Country Park. Visitors are welcome to come along from 9 am – 10.30 am to see what has been captured.
Councillor Annette Wingrave, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Sustainable Development said: “Events such as Moth Mornings make discovering more about what’s on your doorstep an adventure everyone can enjoy.
“There is an astonishing variety of wildlife living in Craig Gwladus Country Park and visitors will be surprised by the variety of moths that the traps might attract. Moths come in a range of shapes, sizes and colours. There are some real beauties that live outdoors in our gardens and countryside”.
Craig Gwladus Country Park is definitely a location with a difference. Enjoy impressive views of the lower Neath from any of the top viewing platforms.
The Country Park offers miles of footpaths to explore, picnic areas, cascades and babbling brooks and tram roads.
The Park also has its very own magical fairy trail. Hidden amongst the trees are tiny fairy doors, which will give you another opportunity to look out for the woodland’s flying creatures! There are all sorts of adventures waiting for you at Craig Gwladus Country Park.
Anyone wishing to attend this free event is asked to meet at the middle car park in Craig Gwladus Country Park. Road directions off the A465 at Aberdulais, follow the sign towards Cilfrew. Please wear appropriate clothing.
