The Welsh Liberal Democrats will be hosting three leadership hustings events in advance of the election of their new leader.
Candidates Elizabeth Evans and Jane Dodds will each give an opening speech, before party members are invited to participate in a question and answer debate.
Speaking on behalf of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, Returning Officer Lord German said:
“We are fortunate to have two gifted candidates for the leadership of the party in Wales as we rebuild for the future.
“With growing anxiety over issues such as Brexit, housing and economic opportunity for our young people, there has never been a greater need to see a reforming Liberal agenda in Wales. I look forward to hearing Elizabeth and Jane set out their visions for our party, and wish them both well in their campaigns.”
The events will take place at the following locations and times:
Saturday 14 October; 3 pm : The Queen’s Hotel, Bridge St, Newport, NP20 4AN
Sunday 15 October; 4 pm: The Halliwell Centre, University of Wales Trinity St David, Carmarthen, SA31 3EP
Saturday 21 October; 6 pm: Community Centre, Mercia Drive, Mynydd Isa, Mold, CH7 6UH
Members of the media are warmly invited to attend and record the speeches at any of the hustings locations, and bids for interviews with both candidates can be accommodated by prior arrangement. Both candidates are Welsh speakers.
