MEMBERS of an Irish community organisation have visited Carmarthenshire for three days.

Officers and committee members from Muintir na Tire, an organisation which works with communities in South Tipperary and Waterford, visited Carmarthenshire as part of an Interreg project led by the Carmarthenshire Association of Voluntary Services (CAVS).

The aim of the project is to exchange good practice and encourage community involvement particularly through community venues and digital engagement.

During their visit, colleagues from Muintir saw the work of many of Carmarthenshire’s organisations including Dr Mzs and Talking Books for the Blind as well as community venues in Peniel and Ferryside.

They were particularly impressed with the work of Catch Up in Llanelli as the main focus of their work in Ireland is in self help. Muintir look forward to hosting an exchange visit in the New Year.
