Happy Holly helps mark a membership milestone at the Botanic Garden

There was a big surprise for Holly Cook when she bought an annual ticket to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Holly’s purchase was a milestone moment for the Carmarthenshire attraction: it was the 10,000th membership sold since they opened in May 2000. So, Botanic Garden bosses decided to celebrate this landmark by presenting Holly, who lives locally, with an honorary life membership.

“It was a super surprise,” said Holly. “They put on a lovely afternoon tea for us to celebrate and presented me with a lovely bouquet of flowers from the Great Glasshouse.”

She added: “The Botanic Garden has become a therapeutic place for me and my daughter Florence loves it. We can happily while away a whole day there.”

Holly and Florence were joined by Holly’s mum, Carol, and her brother, Alex – who are already Garden members – to help her celebrate.

The Garden’s Membership secretary Jane Down said: “This is a marvellous milestone for the Garden and we are delighted that Holly was happy to help us mark the occasion. We hope they all had a great time and come back and see us again soon.”

Annual Membership to the Garden starts from just £38 and you can join as an individual, couple or family, for one year, 10 years or for life.

Membership as a gift is perfect for the garden-loving friend or relative in your life. For more details, visit https://botanicgarden.wales/get-involved/become-a-member/

Holly hapus yn helpu i nodi carreg filltir aelodaeth yn yr Ardd Fotaneg

Cafodd Holly Cook syndod mawr pan brynodd docyn blynyddol i Ardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru.

Roedd pryniant Holly yn foment carreg filltir i’r atyniad Sir Gaerfyrddin: hon oedd y 10,000fed aelodaeth wedi’i werthu ers iddynt agor ym mis Mai 2000.  Felly, penderfynodd penaethiaid yr Ardd Fotaneg ddathlu’r digwyddiad hwn trwy gyflwyno Holly, sy’n byw yn lleol, gydag aelodaeth am oes anrhydeddus.

“Roedd yn newyddion annisgwyl,” meddai Holly.  “Fe wnaethant roi te brynhawn hyfryd i ni ddathlu a chyflwyno blodau hyfryd i mi o’r Tŷ Gwydr Mawr.”

Fe ychwanegodd: “Mae’r Ardd Fotaneg wedi dod yn lle therapiwtig i mi ac mae fy merch, Florence, yn ddwli ar y lle.  Yr ydym yn hapus iawn i dreulio diwrnod llawn yma.”

Cafodd Holly ei ymuno gan fam Holly, Carol, a’i frawd, Alex – sydd eisoes yn aelodau’r Ardd – i’w helpu i ddathlu.

Ymunodd mam Holly, Carol, a’i frawd, Alex, Holly a Florence – sydd eisoes yn aelodau o’r Ardd – i’w helpu i ddathlu.

Dywedodd ysgrifennydd Aelodaeth yr Ardd, Jane Down: “Mae hon yn garreg filltir wych i’r Ardd ac rydym wrth ein bodd fod Holly yn hapus i’n helpu ni i nodi’r achlysur.  Rydyn ni’n gobeithio eu bod nhw i gyd wedi cael amser hyfryd ac yn ymweld eto’n fuan.”

Mae Aelodaeth Flynyddol i’r Ardd yn dechrau o ond £38 a gallwch ymuno fel unigolyn, cwpl neu deulu, am un flwyddyn, 10 mlynedd neu am oes.

Mae Aelodaeth fel anrheg yn berffaith i aelod o’r teulu neu ffrind sy’n hoff o erddi.  Am fwy o fanylion, ewch i https://garddfotaneg.cymru/get-involved/become-a-member/
