Looking for a completely original Christmas gift? Or simply want to find a use for your old household items? Then bring along your old crockery or redundant bric a brac and make them into something useful at Dr Mz Carmarthen on Saturday 24th November.

RDP Sir Gâr’s Zero Carbon Future project is hosting the free Upcycling event to help revamp your junk and make it useful again with upcycling expert Dawny Tootes on hand to help with ideas.

Zero Carbon Future, part of the RDP Sir Gâr Innovative Hubs project, is funded through the Rural Development Plan (RDP) for Wales 2007-2013 which is funded by the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The project aims to deliver innovative solutions and projects which tackle climate change by reducing our carbon footprint.

Paul Thomas, Zero Carbon Future Officer, says:

“Upcycling is something we can do to help the planet become more sustainable. Reusing unwanted items by turning them into new products reduces the use of raw materials and the energy used in the manufacturing of them. Environmentally it is great… but, just as importantly, it’s fun and makes your things unique to you.”

Upcycling at Dr Mz, at the former Carmarthen Athletics Club Carmarthen Saturday 24th November 1 – 5pm. Admission: Free
