Diwrnod Hawliau Gofalwyr

Mae digwyddiad wedi cael ei drefnu ym Mharc y Scarlets i nodi Diwrnod Cenedlaethol Hawliau Gofalwyr ddydd Gwener, 24 Tachwedd.

Fel rhan o’r digwyddiad sy’n cael ei drefnu gan Adran Cymunedau Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin, bydd siaradwr gwadd yn bresennol ac yna cynhelir cyfres o weithdai/sesiynau rhagflas ar gyfer gofalwyr – gweithdy chwerthin, Cymorth Cyntaf sylfaenol, Gwytnwch i Ofalwyr, Celf Er Llesiant, LIFT – low impact functional training, Tylino Pen Dull Indiaidd ac Adweitheg.

Ar ôl cinio bydd teyrnged i Elizabeth Evans MBE a dreuliodd ei hoes yn gofalu ac yn cefnogi gofalwyr.

Bydd cyflwyniad i ddwy ysgol sydd wedi ennill Gwobr Efydd Buddsoddwyr mewn Gofalwyr.

Bydd y diwrnod yn tynnu at ei derfyn drwy gyflwyno Gwobrau Bòs Gofalgar Sir Gaerfyrddin 2017. Cafodd y gwobrau sy’n cael eu cynnal bob dwy flynedd eu cyflwyno fel rhan o Gynllun Gweithredu Gofalwyr Sir Gaerfyrddin i ysgogi ymwybyddiaeth o ofalwyr sy’n gweithio a chodi proffil a chydnabod cyflogwyr neu reolwyr yn y gwaith sydd wedi cefnogi gofalwyr yn eu gweithlu.

Bydd y digwyddiad yn dod i ben â Raffl Nadolig.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Jane Tremlett, Hyrwyddwr Gofalwyr: “Mae o leiaf 370,000 o ofalwyr yng Nghymru. Mae’r gofal a ddarperir gan ofalwyr di-dâl yn arbed £8.1biliwn i economi Cymru bob blwyddyn.

“Mae ymchwil yn dangos nad yw pobl yn ystyried eu hunain yn ofalwyr yn aml ac nad ydynt yn cael cydnabyddiaeth. O ganlyniad, maent yn colli allan ar gymorth ariannol ac ymarferol hanfodol, sy’n drychinebus o ran eu sefyllfa ariannol a’u hiechyd eu hunain.

Carers’ Rights Day

An event has been organised at Parc y Scarlets to mark National Carers Rights Day on Friday November 24.

The event organised by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Communities department, will have a guest speaker to lighten the mood followed by a series of workshops/taster sessions for carers – a laughter workshop, basic First Aid, Resilience for Carers, Arts for Wellbeing, Lift – low impact functional training, and Indian head massage and reflexology.

After lunch there will be a tribute to Elizabeth Evans MBE who dedicated her life to caring and supporting carers.

There will be a presentation to two schools that have achieved the Investors in Carers Bronze Award.

The finale of the day will be the presentation of the Carmarthenshire Caring Boss Awards 2017. The biennial awards were introduced as part of the Carmarthenshire Carers Action Plan to stimulate awareness of working carers and raise the profile and recognition of employers or managers at work who have supported carers within their workforce.

The event will end with a Carers Xmas Raffle.

Carers’ Champion Cllr Jane Tremlett said: “There are at least 370,000 carers in Wales. The care provided by unpaid carers saves the Welsh economy £8.1bn every year.

“Research shows that people often don’t see themselves as carers and aren’t identified. As a result they miss out on vital practical and financial support with disastrous consequences for their own health and finances.”
