Bedroom Browser

TOURISTS in Carmarthenshire are being given some exciting bedtime reading – about where they can go and what they can do the next day.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s marketing and tourism section has produced a bedroom browser which is being placed at the bedside in hotel and B&B’s in the county.

The useful bedroom guide contains information on every attraction within Carmarthenshire.

Bedroom browsers are seen by 95 per cent of visitors staying in Carmarthenshire. The folders are an excellent means of promoting their area.

The council aims to distribute these to graded and ungraded hotels, guesthouses, B&B’s, pubs, holiday cottages and caravan parks throughout the region.

The folder is divided into four areas, and has a useful Top Twelve section for information such as ‘In our opinion the best local restaurant is…’

The thinking behind the bedroom browser is that tourists are more likely to read it in their room at the end of the day rather than to pick up and read leaflets in reception.

Executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “”Our marketing and tourism section has put together a brochure of exciting places to visit in Carmarthenshire. We are now one of the best counties in Wales to visit and this brochure covers everything from beaches and castle to leisure facilities.

“People have more time to reach read about Carmarthenshire’s attractions when they are in the bedroom and that is why we are putting the browser there.”
