Sea Cadets sending Christmas Cheer Overseas

Llanelli Sea Cadets (TS Echo) have signed up with Operation Shoebox Uk’s Helping Us Help Them Campaign. 

Operation Shoebox gives you the opportunity to help lift spirits and make life a little more bearable for our service men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq.  It involves sending a parcel to a soldier and can really make a big difference this Christmas.

PO Paul Jenkins of T.S.Echo said “As we are in the comfort our own homes tucking into our Dinner and relaxing with family and friends, our brave troops will be out in Afghanistan, risking their lives for us.”

“The Sea Cadets would just like to give them a bit of Christmas cheer.”

“The Llanelli Sea Cadets are registered as a distribution centre for the Llanelli area and we will be collecting Parcels for Soldiers up until the 25th November for the Christmas cut off, however you can still send after this.”

Some of the items that are needed are Mp 3 players, cotton underwear, disposable razors, bolied sweets, roll on deodorants, cup a soups and wet wipes. 

Don’t include aerosol cans or chocolate as this usually melts and personal messages are encouraged.  It is also recommend that you restrict your parcel to 1.8kg to ensure that it falls well within the restriction when wrapped.    All parcels should include a £2 donation which is used for funding Operation Shoe Box each year.

Parcels must follow guidance on the Operation Shoebox Website as to the content and size of parcel. 

You can take your parcel to TS Echo, Embankment Road, Morfa Llanelli, SA15 2BT on any parade night, (Tue 18:00-20:30 or Fri 19:00-21:30) or contact The Sea Cadets in advance to drop them off outside these hours.

You can also take them from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday to The Alexander Partnership of 5 West End, Llanelli SA15 3DN
