Dyfed Powys Police have confirmed that they are working with South Wales Police to identify an armed robber who targeted premises in both force areas on the evening of Thursday 15th November.
Gorslas Service Station near Cross Hands and the Shar Tandoori Takeaway on Trallwn Road, Llansamlet were both victims of a robbery.
“We have spoken with our colleagues in South Wales and are now working together to find the person responsible for these two robberies which were committed within an hour of each other,” said Detective Inspector Steve Cockwell. “There are striking similarities between both offences which has led us to the conclusion that they were committed by the same person.
“The offender is male, white, 5’7 to 6’0 tall, medium build wearing a black puffa type jacket which is thick and smooth with a dark hoodie underneath with the hood up. He wore a Halloween type face covering, white in colour with black detail. He was wearing dark coloured over trousers which have two horizontal fluorescent stripes around the bottom of the leg.”
“We are also anxious to trace a motorcyclist who was seen at around 10pm near Gorslas Service Station on the Llandeilo side. This motorcyclist was stationary on the pavement within 20 metres of the garage. We would ask that this person comes forward so that if they have no involvement they can be eliminated from the enquiry.
“Once again I ask anyone with information on either of these incidents, or if you can help us identify the person behind the mask to get in touch with us by calling 101 and asking for Ammanford CID (Dyfed-Powys area) or Neath CID (South Wales area).
“I’d also like to reassure the public that, despite these latest occurrences, incidents of this kind are rare. While these latest incidents are similar to a robbery at the Samraat Takeaway in Llwynhendy on Saturday 3rd November 2012 they are unconnected, as we have arrested and charged two men for that offence and they have been remanded in custody by the court.”
