Budget consultation on the move thanks to Rolling Zone
Neath Port Talbot Council’s consultation on its draft budget proposals is physically moving around the county borough this year thanks to the Rolling Zone.
A feedback box and forms will be available on the Rolling Zone bus for the duration of the consultation, up to and including Monday 15th January 2018.
Cllr Peter Rees, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Culture and Cllr Carol Clement-Williams, Cabinet Member for Finance said: “The rolling zone provides an excellent opportunity of engaging young people on Council Draft Budget for 2018/19 and supporting young people on employment topics and youth activities.
“Budget consultation feedback boxes are already available in public buildings across the county borough, but a presence on the Rolling Zone provides an opportunity to make the consultation accessible to even more people. It will also help us to engage with young people aged 16-25 and encourage them to have their say on the budget setting process.
“It is important that any final decisions are as informed about the needs of Neath Port Talbot as possible and I would urge everyone to give their views on the draft proposals.”
The customised Rolling Zone bus has proved successful in providing support and advice to help young people into employment and as a mobile youth zone for the county borough.
It is fully equipped with laptops and internet so that workers can provide assistance to young people who need employment support and guidance.
The Rolling Zone can be found every Tuesday at:
ALDI – Port Talbot, Taibach between 9.30am – 12.30pm
Civic Centre Square, Port Talbot between 1.00pm – 4.00pm
More information on the proposals and an online feedback facility can be found at www.npt.gov.uk/budget.
