Y Cyngor yn barod ar gyfer eira a iâ posib

MAE Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin yn barod ar gyfer unrhyw dywydd gaeafol sydd wedi ei ragweld ar gyfer y sir heno.

Bydd graeanu ar waith ar brif ffyrdd draws y sir yn nwyrain y sir o hwyr yn y prynhawn. Bydd criwiau yn cynnal patrolau drwy’r nos hyd y bore.

Dywedodd aelod o Fwrdd Gweithredol Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin ar gyfer amgylchedd, y Cynghorydd Hazel Evans: “Bydd ein timau yn gweithio rownd y cloc heno i gynnal patrolau a graeanu holl brif ffyrdd y sir. Mae gennym griwiau yn barod 24 awr y dydd. Gall trigolion fod yn dawel eu meddwl y byddwn yn gwneud pob ymdrech i gadw Sir Gaerfyrddin ar waith os oes unrhyw dywydd gwael yn yr ychydig oriau nesaf.”

Mae gan Gyngor Sir Caerfyrddin 21 o lorïau graeanu yn cwmpasu 18 o lwybrau o amgylch y sir, yn cynnwys cefnffyrdd. Mae llwybr yn cymryd tair awr ar gyfartaledd.

Ychwanegodd Ruth Mullen Cyfarwyddwr Amgylchedd: “Bydd amodau tywydd yn cael eu monitro drwy gydol y nos fel bod amodau yn datblygu. Bydd swyddogion ar ddyletswydd yn derbyn diweddariadau gan y gwasanaeth tywydd a hefyd gan oruchwylwyr / criwiau graeanu sydd allan ar y ffordd gan ein galluogi i ymateb i amodau cyfnewidiol.”

Council prepared for possible snow and ice

CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council is well prepared for any wintery weather expected to hit the county from this evening.

Gritting will be taking place on main routes across the county from late afternoon. Crews will carry out patrols throughout the night until the morning.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member for environment Cllr Hazel Evans said: “Our teams will be working around the clock tonight carrying out patrols and gritting all major routes in the county. We have crews ready 24 hours a day. Be reassured we will make every attempt to keep Carmarthenshire running if there is any adverse weather in the next few hours.”

Carmarthenshire County Council has 21 gritter lorries covering 18 routes around the county, including trunk roads. A route takes three hours on average.

Director of Environment, Ruth Mullen, added: “Weather conditions will be monitored throughout the night as conditions develop. Duty officers will receive updates from the weather service and also from supervisors/gritting crews out on the road allowing us to respond to changing conditions.”
