One week left to have your say
Residents, third sector organisations, charities, local businessesand community groups in Neath Port Talbot have one week left to have their say on how the Council can meet its budget shortfall for 2018/19 and beyond.
The Council is urging you to share your views by providing feedback as part of its public consultation which closes at midnight on Monday 15th January 2018.
Councillor Rob Jones, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council said:
“Whilst the Local Government settlement figure for Neath Port Talbot was better than expected, we are still operating in a cuts environment and underlying budgetary pressures still persist. Like other councils across the UK,we face a significant budget gap next year and beyond.”
Councillor Carol Clement-Williams, Cabinet Member for Finance, said:
“We must continue to review the range of services that the Council provides and look for better, simpler, and cheaper solutions to the way in which we deliver some of these services.”
“I hope that people take the time to give their views in our consultation. It is important to know what people think about the proposals.”
More information on the proposals can be found at www.npt.gov.uk/budget.There are a number of ways to do this, including a dedicated webpage www.npt.gov.uk/budgetwith an online feedback form, Facebook @NeathPortTalbotCBC, Twitter @NPTCouncil or email nptbudget@npt.gov.uk.
