Investment in Ysgol Llangadog

THE first sod has been cut to mark the start of a £4.5million investment in Ysgol Llangadog.

Work is being jointly funded by Carmarthenshire County Council and the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools programme to remodel, refurbish and extend the existing school building.

The project is part of the council’s Modernising Education Programme (MEP) which aims to give every child in the county access to first class accommodation and facilities.

Local contractor WRW has been appointed to carry out the work.

The scheme has been structured in two phases and is expected to be completed during the 2020 spring term.

When completed, the project will provide the school with 120 primary school places. The building will also be used by an external provider to deliver 30 nursery places.

There will also be the construction of a carpark with 52 spaces, associated highways, access and landscaping works.

Education executive board member Cllr Glynog Davies said: “I’m pleased to see that the work has started on Ysgol Llangadog. This work will ensure that the school will offer first class facilities for both the teachers and pupils.”

The council’s Modernising Education Programme has invested £250m to date in Carmarthenshire schools, including the building of eight new primaries and two new secondaries.

Buddsoddi yn Ysgol Llangadog

TORRWYD y dywarchen gyntaf yn Ysgol Llangadog yn ddiweddar i ddynodi dechrau buddsoddiad o £4.5 miliwn yno.

Mae gwaith i ailwampio, adnewyddu ac ymestyn yr adeilad ysgol presennol yn cael ei ariannu ar y cyd gan Gyngor Sir Caerfyrddin a rhaglen Ysgolion yr 21ain Ganrif Llywodraeth Cymru.

Mae’r prosiect yn rhan o Raglen Moderneiddio Addysg y Cyngor, sy’n ceisio sicrhau bod pob plentyn yn y sir yn gallu manteisio ar adeiladau a chyfleusterau addysg o’r radd flaenaf.

Mae contractwr lleol, WRW, wedi’i benodi i wneud y gwaith.

Mae’r cynllun wedi’i strwythuro mewn dau gam a disgwylir iddo gael ei gwblhau yn ystod tymor y gwanwyn 2020.

Pan fydd wedi’i gwblhau, bydd y prosiect yn darparu 120 o lefydd ysgol gynradd i’r ysgol. Defnyddir yr adeilad hefyd gan ddarparwr allanol i ddarparu 30 o lefydd meithrin.

Hefyd bydd maes parcio â 52 o lefydd yn cael ei greu, a chaiff gwaith cysylltiedig o ran priffyrdd, mynediad a thirweddu ei wneud.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Glynog Davies, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros Addysg: “Rwy’n falch o weld bod y gwaith ar Ysgol Llangadog wedi dechrau. Bydd y gwaith hwn yn sicrhau bod yr ysgol yn cynnig cyfleusterau o’r radd flaenaf i’r athrawon a’r disgyblion.”

Mae Rhaglen Moderneiddio Addysg y Cyngor wedi buddsoddi £250 miliwn hyd yn hyn yn ysgolion Sir Gaerfyrddin, gan gynnwys adeiladu wyth ysgol gynradd newydd a dwy  ysgol uwchradd newydd.
