Organisers for ‘The Magic of Christmas”, Llanelli’s traditional musical welcome to Christmas are informing the public that the event is a “sell out” and are discouraging ticket sales at the door.
Despite being held in the largest available venue in the locality, Llanelli’s great Tabernacle Chapel, organisers are now actively discouraging people from turning up at the door in hope of tickets.
The highly popular event – the annual Winter Performance of the Hywel Girls’ Choir & Hywel Boy Singers – will feature 200 voices and musicians from the Hywel Choir, Llanelli Choral Society, Burry Port Male Choir and the award-winning Burry Port Town Band.
The demand for tickets has been so intense that organisers have also been forced to set up an Emergency Ticket Waiting Line to cope with increasing demands for tickets. Contact details for the Emergency Ticket Waiting Line for Saturday’s Magic of Christmas are

Director of Music, John Hywel Williams MBE said, “There’s nothing more rewarding to performing artists than the joys of a capacity audience. It’s wonderful to see the community come together in such force for the young Hywel choristers.”
Disappointed fans unable to attend will be pleased to hear that the Hywel Choir have a number of exciting performances lined up. Later this December, the choristers will be performing at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall with the Dunvant Male Choir.
In the new year, the Hywel choristers will join forces with Only Boys Aloud and additional concerts will include performing with the British Sinfonietta Orchestra, the London Welsh St. David’s Day Concert, Yehudi Menuhin Concert Hall Surrey to name but a few.
John Hywel Williams will also be directing his Hywel Choristers and Llanelli Choral Society to Llanelli’s new, multi-million pound Concert Hall Y Ffwrnes on four occasions including a spectacular orchestral ‘Last night of the Proms’, a ‘From Bach to Broadway and Beyond’ choral extravaganza, a Youth Gala Concert as well as the Magic of Christmas 2013.
Doors will open at 6.30pm for the performance commencing at 7.30pm. As seats for the general public are unreserved, we ask audience members to arrive early to secure their seats. The Hywel Girls’ Choir & Hywel Boy Singers also thank all audience members for their patience and understanding on the evening as we manage to ensure seats for all participants.
