A briefing session presented by a Pembrokeshire charity discussing mental health in rural and agricultural communities will take place next Tuesday (13 February) at the Senedd building in Cardiff Bay.
Primary teacher and charity founder from Haverfordwest, Emma Picton- Jones said:
“We are really looking forward to speaking at the assembly and thank Simon Thomas and Paul Davies for the opportunity. It is vital we all take a role in supporting the mental health of those in the agricultural and rural communities and we are delighted to be able to highlight this at the Senedd.”
Mid and West AM Simon Thomas added:
“I am pleased to host DPJ Foundation with my Assembly colleague Paul Davies. We’ve just noted Thursday 1 February as Time to Talk Day 2018. A day designed to reduce stigma by encouraging us to talk about our mental health.
One in four people experience a mental health problem and the day and events like this are important initiative to help combat feelings of isolation and stigma. We need to help end the discrimination faced by people with mental health issues.”
The DPJ Foundation is a mental health charity based in Pembrokeshire which aims to support those in agriculture and rural communities through reducing the stigma that surrounds mental health.
The DPJ Foundation provides talking therapies service and counselling sessions to those in need in the agricultural and rural communities in Pembrokeshire.
The briefing session will be held in Seminar Rooms 1&2, The Pierhead, Cardiff Bay, 12:00 – 13:00, Tuesday 13th February.
