The project is being jointly funded by Neath Port Talbot Council and the Welsh Government, as part of its 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.

Councillor Rob Jones also congratulated pupils for coming up with the new school name, Ysgol Cwm Brombil.  The name was chosen in a competition by pupils for the new school in Margam.

The name came from the fact that the school site is at the foot of the Brombil Valley, and ‘Brombil Mountain’, which stands slightly behind three of the main hills that overlook Port Talbot: Mynydd Margam, MynyddEmroch and MynyddDinas.
