Llanelli dog grooming business the Mutley Crew are trying to give the homeless some Xmas cheer by raising money for them.
Emma Bowen, the owner said:
“We are raising money for the homeless and their furry companions this Christmas.”
“The money is for their soup kitchens and we’re also collecting non perishables and blankets to help if they don’t manage to get into shelters over the cold winter. We’re also collecting dog food and doggy coats as many of them have doggy companions.”
“We’ve been collecting for 3 – 4 weeks now, with money from each full groom and we’ve donated all of our tips and we’ve set up a Facebook page and the more likes we get, the more money we donate.”
“We’re doing it because we know what it’s like to be hungry and cold with little help, and I’ve had friends live on the streets. It’s hard and we want to help the most vulnerable at the hardest time of year.”
“The homeless are not down and outs, alkies or druggies, they are human beings that have fallen on hard times and it can happen to anybody.”
“We need people to like our new page and are welcoming donations. Could you imagine how much we could raise if every home in Llanelli just donated £1?”
