Events focus groups to be held across Carmarthenshire

FOCUS groups are to be held across Carmarthenshire to look at ways that businesses and communities can get involved in, and benefit from, local events.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Marketing and Media team is running three focus groups as part of its RDP LEADER funded Event Organisers Circle which has been set up to help event organisers grow and improve their events.

Executive board member for culture, sport and tourism, Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, said: “Events can have a significant impact on the economy of a town.

“This can be enhanced further if all the different groups that make up the town are involved in their local events and this can also greatly enhance the visitor experience. We look forward to seeing as many businesses, groups and individuals come along to the focus groups as possible, to look at ways we can work together going forward.”

The focus group meetings will take place at Cawdor Hall (The Clocktower), Newcastle Emlyn, on Monday February 26; Yr Atom, King Street, Carmarthen, on Thursday March 1, and Castle Hotel, Llandovery, on Tuesday March 6. All events take place 6-8pm, with experienced community event organisers as guest speakers.

All events are free of charge. Anyone who wants to attend should email marketing@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
