Consultation opens on new Local Development Plan

THE consultation on Carmarthenshire’s next Local Development Plan (LDP) is now open.

Anyone with an interest in building, land development, their local communities and how Carmarthenshire will be shaped in the future, is invited to get involved and have their say.

The LDP is a key county council document that guides decisions on the location and amount of new homes that can be built, along with associated jobs and community benefits, whilst also protecting the environment.

Officers are now preparing the next LDP which will set out the planning framework for the county through to 2033.

The process can take a number of years, but is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.

A number of public consultations will be held before the final document is agreed.

The first, allowing residents and interested parties to comment on the delivery agreement with its timetable for the plan’s publication, and community involvement proposals has just been opened.

It can be viewed on the council’s website – www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

A second consultation – a call for candidate sites – has also just opened, allowing anyone to submit sites for inclusion within the LDP for uses such as housing, as well as requests for suggested areas to be protected from development. The sites will be assessed and considered for inclusion as part of the preparation of the LDP.

The council’s executive board member for planning, Cllr Mair Stephens, said: “People have a large role to play in the future of Carmarthenshire, and should ensure their voices are heard as we progress towards setting a new LDP. This will be the framework within which we will decide future planning applications, and will guide investments from other public services and infrastructure providers.

“We encourage anyone with an interest to get involved and take part in the consultation.”

MAE’R ymgynghoriad ar Gynllun Datblygu Lleol nesaf Sir Gaerfyrddin bellach ar agor.

Gwahoddir unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn adeiladu, datblygu tir, eu cymunedau lleol a sut y bydd Sir Gaerfyrddin yn cael ei llunio yn y dyfodol, i gymryd rhan a dweud eu dweud.

Mae’r Cynllun Datblygu Lleol yn ddogfen bwysig gan y cyngor sir sy’n llywio’r penderfyniadau o ran lleoliad a nifer y cartrefi newydd y gellid eu hadeiladu, yn ogystal â’r swyddi cysylltiedig, a’r manteision cymunedol, ac yn diogelu’r amgylchedd ar yr un pryd.

Mae swyddogion wrthi yn paratoi’r Cynllun Datblygu Lleol nesaf a fydd yn nodi’r fframwaith cynllunio ar gyfer y sir hyd at 2033.

Gall y broses hon gymryd nifer o flynyddoedd, ond disgwylir i’r broses gael ei chwblhau erbyn diwedd 2021.

Cynhelir nifer o ymgynghoriadau cyhoeddus cyn cytuno ar y ddogfen derfynol.

Mae’r ymgynghoriad cyntaf, sy’n caniatáu i drigolion a phartïon sydd â diddordeb roi sylwadau ar y cytundeb cyflawni, a hefyd yr amserlen ar gyfer cyhoeddi’r cynllun a’r cynigion ar gyfer cynnwys y gymuned, newydd agor.

Mae ail ymgynghoriad – galwad am safleoedd ymgeisio – hefyd newydd agor, gan ganiatáu i unrhyw un gyflwyno safleoedd i’w cynnwys yn y Cynllun Datblygu Lleol at ddibenion megis tai, ynghyd â cheisiadau am safleoedd awgrymedig gael eu diogelu rhag datblygiad. Fel rhan o’r gwaith o baratoi’r Cynllun Datblygu Lleol caiff y safleoedd eu hasesu a’u hystyried ar gyfer eu cynnwys.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Mair Stephens, yr Aelod o Fwrdd Gweithredol y Cyngor dros Gynllunio: “Mae gan bobl rôl bwysig i chwarae yn nyfodol Sir Gaerfyrddin, a dylent sicrhau eu bod yn lleisio’u barn wrth i ni nesáu at lunio Cynllun Datblygu Lleol newydd.  Byddwn yn gwneud penderfyniadau ar geisiadau cynllunio’r dyfodol drwy’r fframwaith hwn, ac yn llywio’r buddsoddiadau a wneir gan wasanaethau cyhoeddus eraill a darparwyr seilwaith.

“Rydym yn annog unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb i gymryd rhan yn yr ymgynghoriad hwn.”
