A series of special events takes place at the National Botanic Garden of Wales this January.

The very popular Derwen Antiques fair returns on Saturday and Sunday January 12-13, Woodcraft Weekend is carving itself a niche on January 19-20 and it’s the Food Fair on the menu for January 26-27 – and admission to all of these events is just £2.

The first event of the new year is the Celtic Women Winter Concert Series on Sunday January 6 which features local singer-songwriters Jemma Krysa and Sarah Passmore. Admission for this event is FREE and, apart from the three event weekends, the rest of January is free, too.

There will be a special sale of snowdrops throughout the month (while stocks last) and the Gallery show ‘Landscape Now’ showcases the talents of three artists: Karen Pearce, Nigel Wood, and Gareth Hugh Davies.

Head of marketing at the Garden, David Hardy said: “It’s not exactly ‘free’ January but we think, at £2 a head, our January events still provide cracking good value. And, if you don’t like crowds, why not pop along on any of our FREE non-event days – there’s 25 to choose from!”
