The Great Welsh Cake Off returns to Beechwood House in Newport on Sunday 25th March between 11am and 1pm for a day of keenly contested baking with Action for Children Fostering Wales.
Bakers should bring their delicious home-baked cakes to Beechwood House for entry at between 10.30 and 10.45am. An expert panel of judges will be on-hand to taste your bakes with superb prizes to be won for the best cakes.
If baking cakes is not your thing but eating them is, then come along too. There will be mouth-watering cakes, teas and coffees for sale and if you have children then there will be plenty of activities to keep them busy too including a tombola, name the bear and children’s craft and cake decorating activities.
Matt Lewis from Action for Children Fostering Wales, said: ‘This will be the fourth year that the competition has run and the standard of cake is getting better every year. I can’t wait to taste this year’s creations. It’s a great event and all proceeds raised from our cake and cuppa sales will go to Action for Children Fostering Wales to help pay for a fun day out for our foster children.
‘By supporting the Great Welsh Cake Off, you are helping to support some of the most vulnerable children in our area so come please come along and enjoy a lovely day for all the family.’
Entry is free but places are limited, so if you would like to enter a cake call 01633 270422 or email fostering.wales@actionforchildren.org.uk
How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help disadvantaged children across the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. We make life better for disabled children. We influence policy and advocate for change. Our 7,000 staff and volunteers operate over 600 services, improving the lives of 390,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers every year. We succeed by doing what’s right, doing what’s needed, and doing what works for children.
