Temporary shuttle bus for Llansadwrn and Llanwrda
A TEMPORARY shuttle bus service has been put on by Carmarthenshire County Council to support residents of Llansadwrn and Llanwrda during the continued closure of a section of the A40.
A four-mile stretch of the trunk road between Llandovery and Llanwrda has been closed for a number of days following the opening of a sink hole over a damaged water culvert.
The South Wales Trunk Road Agent is working to repair the road and re-open it, but in the meantime diversions are in place which have affected the Carmarthen-Llandovery bus service.
The temporary shuttle bus will run Monday through until Saturday until the road re-opens, calling at all recognised bus stops along the route.
Cllr Hazel Evans, executive board member for environment, said: “The Welsh Government has advised us that repairs will be carried out this week which we hope will mean the road can re-open soon.
“However, there are residents in these villages who rely on bus services so we are pleased to lay on a temporary shuttle bus to help them travel to Carmarthen and Llandovery.”
Bws gwennol dros dro ar gyfer Llansadwrn a Llanwrda
MAE Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin yn darparu gwasanaeth bws gwennol dros dro i gynorthwyo trigolion Llansadwrn a Llanwrda wrth i ran o’r A40 barhau i fod ar gau.
Mae darn pedair milltir o’r gefnffordd rhwng Llanymddyfri a Llanwrda wedi bod ar gau am nifer o ddiwrnodau ar ôl i lyncdwll agor dros geuffos ddŵr a oedd wedi’i difrodi.
Mae Asiant Cefnffyrdd De Cymru yn gweithio i atgyweirio’r ffordd a’i hail-agor, ond yn y cyfamser mae dargyfeiriadau ar waith sydd wedi effeithio ar wasanaeth bws Caerfyrddin-Llanymddyfri.
Bydd y bws gwennol dros dro yn cael ei gynnal o ddydd Llun i ddydd Sadwrn hyd nes bod y ffordd yn ail-agor, ac yn galw ym mhob arhosfan bws cydnabyddedig ar hyd y ffordd.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Hazel Evans, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros yr Amgylchedd: “Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi dweud y bydd y gwaith atgyweirio yn cael ei gyflawni yr wythnos hon ac rydym yn gobeithio y bydd hyn yn golygu y gall y ffordd ail-agor yn fuan.
“Fodd bynnag, mae rhai trigolion yn y pentrefi hyn yn dibynnu ar wasanaethau bws ac felly rydym yn hapus i gynnal bws gwennol dros dro i’w helpu i deithio i Gaerfyrddin a Llanymddyfri.”
