Glanamman workshops open for business
NEW and expanding businesses are being offered the opportunity to grow at newly refurbished industrial units in the Amman Valley.
Carmarthenshire County Council has invested £1million renovating the Glanamman Workshops on Tabernacle Road, which are now coming on to the market for rent to local businesses.
The first phase of the redevelopment is almost complete, offering 13 industrial units for business, general industrial, storage or distribution use.
Units are being made available on flexible ‘easy-in, easy-out’ lease terms, with rents ranging between £235 and £525 per month.
The council said it wanted to encourage job creation and increase supply and demand of industrial units in the area.
The council’s executive board member for resources, Cllr David Jenkins said: “The newly renovated units fill the gap in the current supply of industrial space and provide opportunities for new business ventures and the growth of existing businesses.
“This is great news for new and growing businesses in the Amman Valley, as well as their customers.
“We are grateful to our contractors Jones Brothers (Henllan) Ltd for their quality of work.
“The renovation and revival of these workshops has been a commitment of mine since my election in 2008 so I’m extremely pleased to see this come to fruition.
“We now look forward to moving on to the second phase which is a further £1million investment from our five-year capital programme for the remaining block of 13 units.”
