People across Wales are being called upon to unite against dementia by signing up for Alzheimer’s Society’s Cupcake Day on Thursday 14 June.
Alzheimer’s Society Cymru is urging everyone to unite against dementia with their families, friends and colleagues, by baking or buying cupcakes to raise vital funds.
Eirwen Jones, Alzheimer’s Society’s Head of Region for Wales, said: “We’re calling on people across Wales to dust off their baking bowls and whip out their whisks for Alzheimer’s Society’s Cupcake Day.
“Dementia is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer and affect 1 million by 2021. Each cupcake will help us find a cure, improve care and offer help and understanding for people affected.
“Whether you choose to celebrate on June 14 or mark the occasion another time in the month, there are no excuses not to get involved. Visit cupcakeday.org.uk to sign up today.”
Last year more than 1,400 people dusted off their baking bowls and whipped out their whisks to unite against dementia for Cupcake Day. People in Wales raised over impressive £60k and this year Alzheimer’s Society Cymru hopes to raise even more.
