Hywel Dda University Health Board would like to reassure patients of Ash Grove Medical Practice that the Practice will remain open following the resignation of the partners from 1 September 2018.

The partners’ resignation and return of the Practice’s GMS contract means that the provision of services at the Surgery will become the direct responsibility of the Health Board for the time being, until the best way forward for the Practice becomes clearer.

The Practice remains open as normal, and GP cover will continue to be provided by the partners.

Patients registered with Ash Grove should remain registered at the Practice and should continue to access services as normal.

Elaine Lorton, Assistant Director of Primary Care at the Health Board said: “We accept that this news may concern the community, however the Health Board wishes to reassure patients of Ash Grove Medical Practice that they can continue to access GP services locally as they have done.

“The continued sustainability of General Medical Services for the patients registered at the Practice is of paramount importance for the Health Board and we see this as an opportunity to strengthen services locally. Planning processes are underway to determine the available options for the Practice, and the Health Board is working closely with the Practice to provide support.

“The Health Board is keen to listen to patients and stakeholders to define what long-term model is needed for the community.

“We will write to patients shortly giving them further information about the options we will be considering along with details of an information and forthcoming drop-in session that we will be organising towards the end of May.”

Patients of Ash Grove Medical Centre should any direct enquiries to Laura Lloyd Davies, Primary Care Locality Development Manager on 07805 799658.
