A new page has been set up on facebook by users to help people re-home unwanted pets.

The Page, called ‘Helping Lost/found and Re-homing Horses/Dogs/Cats’ is for anyone with unwanted animals to post their details to reach other people that they wouldn’t normally come into contact with.

The group advises people to post any requests for the re-homing of Horses, cats and dogs or lost & found messages to the page to reach other Facebook users in order to help owners and animals reunite and hopefully save some that don’t have a home yet.

The group also intends the page to be used to advise people on various topics relating to each animal, be it basic health care or micro-chipping. One of their admin’s is a head veterinary nurse who will post relevant topics from time to time.

Jaime Smith one of the people behind the group said:

“We want to use Facebook to enable us to help owners and their pets be reunited.”

“Also to help animals in need of a home and maybe we can help save some from an uncertain fate.”

“To make this site more known and have a better success rate we ask people to follow and like the page in order to help the people and animals in need that don’t know this site is available.”
