Fuel tank thefts in Llangain – police appeal for witnesses

Police are investigating four separate thefts of fuel from the tanks of vehicles parked outside homes in Llangain.

The first happened some time between midnight on 2nd and 6.20pm on 4th February. The fuel tanks of two vehicles were drilled into and fuel taken.

Between 7pm on 2nd and 7.15am on 4th February four holes have been drilled into the fuel tank of another vehicle.

Between 6pm on 2nd and 6am on 4th February a third property was targeted. Again the fuel tank was drilled, but this time most of the diesel spilt onto the driveway and

The final reported incident happened between 11.45pm on 2nd and 8,30am on 3rd February and again the fuel has spilt out onto the driveway.

If anyone has any information on these thefts, please contact officers at St Clears on 101.

Householders and motorists are advised to:

  • Park your vehicle in well-lit areas where they will be seen by passing vehicles / persons.
  • Where possible park vehicles against solid objects on the fuel tank side to prevent access.
  • Ensure that vehicle fuel caps are locked and secure.
  • Where possible run the tank down daily and re-fuel each morning.
  • Don’t leave vehicle keys in vehicles.
