Innovative collaboration will bring 100 jobs

A deal which will lead to the creation of 100 new jobs at a Llangennech based firm has been welcomed by Llanelli Assembly Member, Keith Davies today (Tuesday 12th February 2013).

Hydro Industries has announced a joint venture with US based T&T Salvage, which operates one of the most extensive salvage response networks in the world and has a strong presence in the United States.

Keith Davies has already visited Hydro Industries site to see for himself some of the innovative projects the company was working towards developing.

Llanelli Labour AM, Keith Davies said:

“This is great news for the local economy especially at a time when UK government policy risks putting us back into recession. It highlights that Welsh businesses supported by the First Minister and the Welsh Government can attract new business opportunities and create new jobs.”

The deal signed on Monday was witnessed by the First Minister Carwyn Jones. He is currently in the United States brokering business opportunities for Welsh companies looking to reach a global market.

Keith Davies continued:

“This collaboration with American company T&T Salvage marks an impressive year for Hydro Industries having already won the Institute of Welsh Affairs Business Award for new start up company of the year last November.

“Green jobs and the investment in the environmental economy is a real growth area for the Wales. Hydro Industries is ensuring that Llanelli is at the forefront of these developments with their innovative environmental marine technology. I am delighted that what has started as a local business with a great idea has become, with the support of the Welsh Government, a growing welsh company on the international stage.

“I look forward to meeting with the company again to hear more about their exciting plans.”
