Bug-eating plants put on a show

Hungry insect-chomping plants go on show at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, on Saturday and Sunday June 23-24.

The Carnivorous Plant Society is hosting the event which features a large display of living carnivorous plants, stands for expert advice and plant care, children’s activities, expert talks and plants for sale – so you can buy your very own Venus fly trap!

Promotions officer for the Carnivorous Plant Society, Ian Salter said: “This event offers an excellent opportunity for the expert, the keen and the curious to browse our displays of these fascinating and unusual plants, find out how to grow them and buy some to take home. It is also another very good reason to visit this magnificent garden.”

For details about this and other events taking place at the National Botanic Garden email info@gardenofwales.org.uk or call 01558 667149.

The Carnivorous Plant Society was founded in 1978 and is a charitable organisation dedicated to the promotion of carnivorous plants both in the wild and in cultivation, through conservation and education. For more information, visit their website www.thecps.org.uk
