New research has revealed the top ten people Brits try their hardest to keep their promises to – with more people saying they try to keep promises they make to their work colleagues, bosses and even dentist than those made to their own grandmother.

The research, commissioned to celebrate the launch of the Kia Promise also revealed that, when a promise is broken, it is most likely to happen within one hour.

The most commonly broken promises are “let’s keep in touch”, “I’ll be back on time” and “I’ll do it later” whilst the research shows us to be a nation of loyal binge watchers as “I won’t watch this series without you” is the promise we are least likely to break.

On average we break seven promises a year, but it’s not all bad news, as we are keeping more than we break with an average of 13 promises kept a year; and only five per cent agreeing with the statement “promises are made to be broken”.
